The assurance requirements for different organisations can be quite unique. Soo Ann brings to the firm more than 20 years of extensive experience in auditing and business advisory. This, and his diverse background, means that he is able to identify, analyse and advise on any particular weaknesses or irregularities in the control systems of an organisation. Soo Ann has a keen interest in the not-for-profit and education sectors, and currently spearheads the firm’s not-for profit sector audit.

Experience

Soo Ann is a trained engineer from a local university and started his career as a defence engineer in the Ministry of Defence before embarking on his professional career in the Auditor-General’s Office (AGO) upon completing his MBA (Accountancy) programme in Nanyang Technological University. He rose to the post of Assistant Director in the AGO and gained further auditing experience with a Big 4 accounting firm before joining Foo Kon Tan in 1999. An audit partner since 2006, he has taken on various roles in the firm and has a wealth of experiences working with SMEs, government agencies including  statutory boards as well as public listed company.  In addition to financial audit, Soo Ann has assisted clients in financial due diligence reviews, initial public offerings (IPOs) and special purpose audit and investigations.
